Mountains of Madness
Rats, rats, rats, rats, rats, rats, rats, rats, RATS!!!!!
Based on the stories of HP Lovecraft, Alexander Hacke, bass player for
the German band Einstürzende Neubauten, and London-based band The
Tiger Lillies, perform a chilling, ghostly musical interpretation of
Lovecraft’s stories.
In this 2005 rock video, Lovecraft’s stories of ancient gods, terror
and lost souls are brought to life in a sometimes humorous, yet
melancholic manner by the artists. The Tiger Lillies' traditional
array of instruments, combined with Alexander Hacke’s electronic sound
compositions give this performance its ghostly ambiance in which an
open-minded audience can immerge itself in the imagination of
Lovecraft.
“The Call of Cthulhu” is H.P. Lovecraft's most famous story, and the
only story to feature the celebrated monster Cthulhu.
A dying professor leaves his great-nephew a collection of documents
pertaining to the Cthulhu Cult. The nephew’s investigation to
understand his grandfather’s fascination with the cult becomes a
crusade of his own as he learns of the dire implications of the
inquiries. As he pieces together the dreadful and disturbing reality
of the twisted knot of fear, madness, nameless cults and horrors the
situation presents, his own sanity begins to dissipate. In the end, he
passes the torch to his psychiatrist, who assumes the Cthulhu crusade.
The film was the Online Viewers Voice Award winner at the Cinequest
Film Festival 18 in San Jose, California in 2008 and has also been an
official selection at international film festivals in Greece, Brazil,
and Italy. Produced by members of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical
Society, it is filmed in the classic 1920s silent movie style which
provides the story with an authentic and spirited interpretation of
Lovecrafts’s most influential tale.

"The West Jefferson Mall is closed down and set to be demolished. The department store was the sight of a grizzly murder/suicide years before and now... it's the perfect location for a wicked Halloween party. Two floors, fifty thousand square feet, loud music, booze, sexy Halloween costumes. And one uninvited guest. It's one hell of a night and by morning the only survivor, a woman with psychic abilities, is pinned in a cat and mouse game with the killer, running from room to room and using her powers to retrace the final steps of the other guests."
Veronika London, Eva James and Peter Jackson star alongside Neil Green - known only in the film as "The Man", a sadistic killer who is picking off all the kids at the Halloween party.
